Regardless of the crime that he was convicted of (wrongfully), Mike is a high-risk Stroke Patient.  A major point in fact is that the probation department responsible for recommending sentences, recommended zero jail time for Mike.

The BOP is notorious for poor healthcare of inmates with serous medical conditions.  Since his incarceration that began in July 2024, and especially increasingly during 2025, it is clear to us that Mike had several Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA's) or minor strokes (if there is such a thing) during his incarceration. He kept pleading his caregivers to give him appropriate imaging for the doctors to be able to properly diagnose and potentially prevent additional strokes. 

Nothing was ever done. Finally, sometime in November 2025, he had a major stroke and went completely unconscious and unresponsive. We know now that he was taken from the prison camp in Beaumont to Memorial Herman emergency in downtown Houston. He has serious medical issues that his family is not even being appropriately informed of in any reasonable way.   ​The rest of this story will be finished as we move forward but for now it appears that Mike is literally enduring "cruel and unusual punishment", and we don't even know if he can walk anymore.  There will be much more to follow up on this going forward. For now, with the help of Mike's court appointed attorney we are doing everything possible to ask for compassionate release+++.  He has no business being incarcerated further, if there is any justice in this world.
